So long, farewell, auf wiedersein...

Goodbye to the beloved blog of our good online "friend" CTrent Rosecrans.

We always enjoyed Trent's blog for all the latest news on the Reds, the behind-the-scenes views, and many other running commentaries on a myriad of topics. While you've started a new blog, which we're all grateful for, we will always miss the old one!

A Rose between juiced thorns and the Chosen

That's what an Ohio senator was lobbying for in Congress.

Click here to read the story.

The Congressman who was consulted about the deal was later convicted, ironically, of bribery and is currently serving jail time.

John Heyman from SI.com says it's time to put Davey in the hall

5. Dave Concepcion. This is his 15th and last year on the ballot, and he's probably going to get his usual 10 percent of the vote again. The reason I am in that 10 percent is that I think he was perhaps the best all-around shortstop of his generation and an underrated piece of the Big Red Machine. Great defender (five Gold Gloves) and superb stealer (321 stolen bases), his career looks a lot like Hall-of-Famer Phil Rizzuto's to me -- without the announcing, of course.

A (albeit dated) Reds rumor

Per www.mlbtraderumors.com:

UPDATE, 12-22-07 at 4:52pm: John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer says the Orioles have backed off on their demand for Jay Bruce from the Reds in a Bedard deal. He says they still require three top prospects, who would probably be Homer Bailey, Johnny Cueto, and Joey Votto. That would wipe out the farm system, as that trio ranks #2-4 in the organization according to Baseball America. Would it be better to substitute Edwin Encarnacion for Cueto?

Welcome!

So no, I'm not CTrent, but I figured it'd be nice to have a place where those of us from his blog could still talk Reds (and the many other things we dicuss here). I probably won't be able to live blog or do any of the other things that CTR did, but still I'll try to keep up-to-date posts on the Reds' moves and games.
